Hi there,

We’re seeking a Live In Caregiver for our beloved mother / grandmother. This would be a full-time position for 5 days a week, with two days off. We are located near St. Eugene, Ontario, within an hour’s drive of either Montreal or Ottawa.

Edith suffered a stroke several years ago and has since experienced limited mobility and partial paralysis on her left side. Through dedicated physiotherapy she has recovered some of her mobility and can now walk short distances with a walker. She is otherwise in good spirits and very active; she loves having people over for tea, being outside, going to church on weekends, classical music, and reading from her favourite chair. Throughout the week she keeps active by visiting friends and family, going to aquafitness, attending activity days at a local senior’s residence, and venturing into Ottawa or Montreal for doctor’s appointments or excursions.

– potential to arrange rides to / from Ottawa if need be
– schedule for days off can be negotiated

Our expectations:

We are looking for a person who is the right fit and can (to some extent) provide training as needed. First and foremost we are looking for someone who is compassionate and dedicated, who will value the care that they bring as more than just a job.

The job involves: administering daily medication, daily physiotherapy, cooking healthy meals (large garden outside, focus on local & organic foods), driving to appointments and errands, general care and companionship, general household duties (light cleaning, dishes, laundry) responding to calls during the night as necessary.

-Working proficiency in English or German is a must.
-Driver’s License is also necessary, to bring Edith to appointments or go grocery shopping etc.

Starting date negotiable, preference for March-April.
