Asphalt Crew Assistant will perform the following duties:
Take direction to perform duties of site prep
Work as part of a crew alongside paving machines, shovelling, raking joints and finishing
Work as part of a crew doing handwork: Patching, curbing, speed bumps and other repairs
Level asphalt/aggregate to grade specifications using shovels, trowel and rakes
Assist with the movement, placement, and dismantling of signs, barricades, cones and other traffic control and safety devices
Help heavy equipment operators to secure special attachments to equipment, signal operators to guide them in moving equipment and provide assistance in other activities
Lift, hold and carry supplies, tools, and materials
Perform other activities at construction sites, as directed.
Skills and Attributes:
At least 1 year experience in Asphalt Paving
Should have great communication skills (English)
Must live within commutable distance of our office in Burnaby
Must be able to work with projects around Lower Mainland with minimum supervision
Must be able to handle the physical demands of asphalt paving
Happy working in a team environment
Must be willing to work flexible hours
