Event Planning Coordinator – admin/office

Prep101, one of Canada’s leading test prep companies, is seeking an experienced event planning coordinator to assist with the planning and delivering of our numerous prep courses across Canada.

We’re looking for someone with solid administrative, organizational and communication skills that is committed to doing whatever is necessary to help the team get the job done.

Position Responsibilities

– Assist with running all day-to-day operations
– Respond to client inquiries and provide customer service support
– Manage client registration/payment process
– Coordinate activities of the business concerned with the planning, organizing and implementation of our prep courses (printing, booking audiovisual, etc.)
– Manage part-time staff, preparing work schedules and assigning specific duties
– Draft and dispatch administrative emails
– Assist with recruitment of on-campus staff (mainly students)
– Track and maintain budgets and payroll
– Update website and database information
– Proofread and perform basic editing of course materials
– Liaise with other areas of the company and participate in team meetings

Qualifications

– 1-3 years of event planning/operations/management experience, preferably in the service sector
– A university degree/college diploma, preferably in a related discipline
– Excellent customer service/management skills
– Excellent event planning skills
– Excellent project management skills
– Excellent multi-tasking skills
– Great communication skills, both oral and written
– Strong computer skills (Microsoft Outlook/Excel/Word, Google Docs/Sheets and Dropbox)
– Proficiency with Adobe Acrobat or a strong desire to gain skills
– Detailed-oriented and very organized
– Strives under pressure
– Entrepreneurial, independent mindset
– Problem-solver personality
– Strong written and spoken English
– Comfortable working nights/weekends during high season, if needed – compensated through additional time-off and/or shorten work days during low season (Holiday Season and Academic Summer Break)
