Cook – food/beverage/hospitality

Pizzeria Magpie in the Mile End is currently looking for a full time garde manger cook. Very busy, fast paced environment, but also very fun! You will be responsible for appetizers, salads, fresh pastas, oysters and desserts. This section is interesting to passionate cooks as it also includes creating/executing new specials on a bi-weekly basis. We make every effort to use fresh and local ingredients throughout the menu. There is room to learn and grow within this position, as the specials invite creativity, inventiveness, and will allow you to hone various skills.

Requirements:

2 Years experience working in a kitchen and/or cooking school
Knife skills
Basic food knowledge and passion for food
Ability to work quickly under pressure
Being adaptable to a rapidly changing environment
Ability to work well in a team
Reliability.
