Administrative Assistant, Tax & Financial Planning – Montreal Office

Kerr Financial Corporation is looking for an organized, self-motivated individual to work as an Administrative Assistant in our Montreal office.

Kerr Financial provides integrated wealth management services to high net worth families in Canada. We combine the services of our investment management team with accounting, tax and estate planning to support families with all of the wealth management services they need to optimize their financial resources. We prepare an overall portfolio strategy and investment statement for our client families. In implementing the policy, we take a multi-manager approach in working with a preferred list of the top investment managers in Canada and internationally. The unique elements of our investment offering include our multi-manager portfolio approach and integrated delivery of tax, planning, and investment services. Through Kerr Financial Advisors, we focus on clients holding $1M to $20 Million of liquid assets under management. We also have a separate division, Kerr Family Office, which supports families ranging from $20M to $200M assets under management.

We are looking for an Administrative Assistant with a strong client service focus and excellent oral and written communication skills. The incumbent will work within our Administrative team, supporting our Montreal Tax and Financial Planning department.

Job Overview

• Responsibilities:

Project based:
– Prepare and action Quarterly Tax Installments
– Completion of 8840 forms
– Tax Season collating and junior inputting of T slips as needed (5wk period)
– Tax Season set up
– Estate client administrative work ad hoc basis such as contacting institutions for paperwork
– Estate/Tax projects as needed on an ad hoc basis (research, follow-up on documentation, stock/share information, Notice of Assessment inquiry responses as directed by professionals )
– Marketing and Business development initiatives including round table events

Administrative:
– Preparing documentation for periodical mailings for Tax Season, Event planning and client communications
– Assisting professionals in client documentation, client and government authority requests
– Maintaining compliant files according to internal and external requirements
– Department office tasks including photocopying, faxing, mailing, creating labels and distributing.
– Reception first line back up covering duties during receptionist’s vacation and work absent periods.
– Active team administrative support team member for administrative personnel

Desired Skills & Experience

 The employee will have at least 2 years of office administrative or equivalent experience;
 Completion of college diploma;
 Collaborative and self-starting individual;
 Strong communication and presentation skills;
 Analytical, detailed orientated coupled with the ability to multi-task;
 Proven MS Office skills, Tax Prep and/or accounting software an asset.

Remuneration

Commensurate with experience (includes full health insurance, GRRSP and profit share/bonus programs)
